Asiana Airlines Revised Dangerous Goods Regulations

   

 

                              11th Edition 2015

 

 

Dangerous Goods Regulations,

effective as of 14th September 2015

 

 

Dear valued customers,

Please pay attention to our updated D.G. regulations.

 

 

        D.G Embargo list (PAX & FRTR)

  1. Explosives are prohibited, except for:
    • Class 1.4S can be accepted if a prior approval has been received from Asiana HQ (OZ-03)
  2. Flammable liquids / Class 3 in Packing Group I are prohibited (OZ-04)
  3. Oxygen generator, chemical - UN3356 / Class 5.1 prohibited (OZ-05)
  4. Radioactive material Type B(M) Package, Type C Package and fissile is prohibited (OZ-06)
    • Radioactive material Type B(U) Package is accepted on FRTR only (OZ-07)
  5. Lithium batteries:
    • UN3090 classified under RLM and also ELM (PI968) prohibited
    • UN3091 classified under RLM prohibited (OZ-10)
    • UN3480 (Section IA,IB) classified under RLI prohibited
    • UN3481 (Section I) classified under RLI prohibited (OZ-11)
  6. Vehicles with Lithium Battery classified under UN3166 and UN3171 prohibited (OZ-12)
  7. Dangerous Goods will not be accepted on Passenger flights (OZ-09) except for:
    • ID8000 (Consumer commodity),
    • UN1845 (Dry ice),
    • UN2807 (Magnetized material),
    • UN3166 (Engine/Vehicle),
    • UN3373 (Biological substance, Category B),
    • REQ Dangerous Goods in excepted quantity
    • RRE Radioactive material in excepted package
    • UN3481 only ELI Lithium ion batteries, Section II, PI 966 - 967
    • UN3091 only ELM Lithium metal batteries, Section II, PI 969 - 970

            2.Dangerous Goods in Consolidations

     In case of D.G. in consolidation, shipper must enter the number of the House Airway Bill after the   Airway Bill number separated by “/” in the Shipper’s Declaration

 

3. D.G. in Built Up Units (BUP)

Dry Ice (as a cooling agent for general cargo), ELI/ELM, ID8000 and MAG are allowed inside of BUPs.

à The number of D.G. packages which are built up on each BUP must be mentioned in the field “Nature and Quantity of Goods” on the MAWB

  

4. Liquid Dangerous Goods in OVERPACK

  • Operator Variations of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations [OZ – 08]
  • ‘Overpack’ labels must be clearly visible on the packages and ‘overpacked used’ must be mentioned on

the Shipper’s declaration.

  • Combination Packaging does not need an overpack (incl. LTD QTY).

Packing explanation:

[OZ-08] All liquid dangerous goods shipments must be packed in accordance with the following requirements in addition to specified packing instructions

  1. All single and composite packaging regardless of their net quantity must be overpacked by a strong wooden crate.
  2. Single packaging code 1A1, 1A2 and composite packaging code 6HA1 having more than 20L of net quantity must be overpacked either by a strong wooden crate OR on a suitable sized wooden or plastic pallet to protect at least the top and bottom of the packaging.
